UGANDA
Mountain Gorillas and More....
Uganda is located between Tanzania, Rwanda, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and South Sudan, at the crossroads of East and Central Africa.
Though landlocked, its geography is defined by water, which includes much of the massive Lake Victoria, Lake Albert, and the extensive marshes of Lake Kyoga, as well as the White Nile and its beautiful waterfalls. In the far west, the Ruwenzori Mountains reach snow-capped and glaciated summits that rise beyond 5000 meters.
A large variety of species live in 60 protected areas, including 10 national parks, the most well-known of which are mountain gorillas in the lush rainforests of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga. Chimpanzees can be observed in Kibale and the beautiful Kyambura Gorge in Queen Elizabeth National Park, which also has lions, elephants, leopards, hippos, and other wildlife. While its neighbors to the east may provide a better safari, Uganda can nonetheless be the backdrop for a true African adventure.
When To Visit Uganda?
Uganda, located right on the Equator, does not have distinct seasons. In Bwindi, December to early March and June to September are often drier, making gorilla trekking simpler and less muddy, with cold nights and pleasant days all year.
- Short Dry Season - December to March
- Long Rains - March to May
- Long Dry Season - June to September
- Short Rains - October to November
