Booking and Cancellation Conditions for Safaris

Cancellation fees for TrekTide Safaris are determined by our commitments once accommodations, domestic flights, or services are reserved. To minimize these charges, we apply the following percentages of the total price.

Cancellation Policies for Safaris in Kenya & Tanzania:

• Up to 60 days before the safari: No cancellation fee.
• Up to 35 days before the safari: 20% cancellation fee.
• Up to 15 days before the safari: 40% cancellation fee.
• Less than 15 days or within 3 days before the safari: 60% cancellation fee.
• Within 3 days of the safari: No refund, 100% cancellation fee applies.
• Refunds, if applicable, will be credited to the original payment method within 6 months.
• A 5% administrative fee will be applied to cover transaction charges in case of cancellation.

While we strive to ensure a smooth safari experience, unforeseen issues may arise. If you encounter any problems during your tour, please promptly inform your tour manager via email, WhatsApp, or the lodge/camp manager for accommodation-related concerns. This allows us to address the issue promptly and prevent any disruption to your safari. Failure to report issues on-site may limit our ability to resolve them later.

Seasonal Considerations and Resort Facilities:

Some factors, like seasonal changes and public holidays, can affect tourist facilities and destination ambience. Additionally, encounters with wild animals are possible during African safaris. While such incidents are rare, TrekTide Safaris and its affiliates cannot be held liable for any resulting incidents.

Travel Insurance:

It’s essential for each member of your party to have comprehensive travel insurance covering cancellation, medical expenses, and other unforeseen circumstances. Failure to obtain insurance is at your own risk, and TrekTide Safaris Ltd cannot be held responsible for any consequences.

Payment Terms:

• Deposit percentages vary based on the duration of the safari.
• The balance is due 1 day before the safari begins.
• Credit card payments are preferred and can be made online.
• Payments in USD are preferred for international clients.
• We strongly discourage cash transactions.

Responsibility:

While we take precautions to ensure your safety and enjoyment, safari travel inherently involves some level of risk. TrekTide Safaris acts as an agent for passengers and is not liable for incidents beyond our control.

Complaints and Issue Resolution:

Any complaints or dissatisfaction during the safari should be communicated immediately to your tour manager for on-site resolution. If not resolved on-site, formal complaints should be submitted in writing within 30 days of completing the safari for further investigation. Genuine compensations or settlements will be addressed within 30 days of receiving the complaint.
